Travelling Tips

Traveling overseas is one thing that is on most, if not all, of our bucket list. Experiencing different cultures in its various forms – history, music, people etc. is something I’ve always wanted to do. Traveling is an outer body and inner body transformation and realization that each and everyone of us should experience at some point in life. Traveling can be exciting, however, if the necessary precautions are not taken, it could go downhill. I have outlined a few things I’ve done when traveling that has helped me big time.

Money

Be sure that the specific country you are traveling to uses your credit card. Local cash is a must and this tip i learned from my mom. A day or so before you leave for your travels stop by your nearest western union store or online and send yourself some money to the destination where u are going to be. When you get to the destination stop by the closest WU store and pick up your money. Why, you ask? Typically when you bring your actual currency to these country it’s gonna be exchanged to the local currency. When it comes to the exchange of currency, there is usually a charge that cost an arm and a leg bruh! Also you dont want to use a currency that is not of the land. You dont want to stick out cause thats when you get scammed.

Important Document

Ensure you have two 2 copies of your passport, visa, greencard etc. Keep one at the place you’re staying and keep one back in your home country. In the event that you lose anything you have backup.

Accomodation

Obviously you would want to book your hotel in advance. However, like 2 weeks before you travel ensure to double check with the hotel and make sure that your room is indeed still booked cause sometimes they do overbook. I had to learn the hard way 😩(had to tell har bout har mudda cunt) 😂 dont judge🙅

Communication

Activate your phone’s roaming plan; some are free and some are not. If you dont want to do that there are a bunch of international calling apps out there such as magicjack.

Be sure to research prior hand local events, happenings, local food because the tourist treatment is not always a true representation of the culture of that country.

Hope this helps and if you have any additional tips feel free to share it in the comments.
